Prints of this quality are hard to find and feature reproductions of the original and amazing colour paintings by J W Waterhouse, completed between 1888 and 1916 . They are of a very high quality, full of detail and would look superb adorning the walls of any house or school.
This set contains prints of the following paintings; Lady of Shalott (1888), Circe offering the Cup to Ulysses (1891), Hylas and the Nymphs (1896), The Siren (1900), Destiny (1900), Windswept (1902), Echo and Narcissus (1903), The Danaides (1904), Apollo and Daphne (1908), Miranda the Tempest (1916), A Mermaid (1901).
John William Waterhouse was born in Rome, and was always known as Nino. Both his parents were artists. He was a retiring, shy man, and left no diaries or journals, In 1883 he married Esther Kenworthy in Ealing, West London. They had no children. The couple lived in a purpose built artistic colony in Primrose Hill, fellow residents, and close friends included Logsdail, and Maurice Greiffenhagen and his wife. He died in 1917.
